The Horse Show

Hello everyone. Its me, Kaylie. I am here to update you on whats going on in my life. Well, I am going to be in a play pretty soon. The play is called The Comedy Of Errors. I am playing the... 2nd merchant and I gave myself a name. It is Jesslen. Pretty clever, right? I thought of it myself, with a little help. I just started reading Breaking Dawn. I just finshed chapter 4. Truth be told, I am addicted. Guess what, a few weeks ago on the tenth there was a Gymkhana. I got 3rd place over all in my division. My prize was a cool tee shirt. I am riding a horse named Starlight. She was being pretty good for me. I can't ride my horse because my horse is lame. The vet thinks she has arthritis and he can give her a shot and she will be all better. When he comes. I had a really good time at the show. Well, I hope you are updated now.
Love,
Kaylie

Much Ado About Nothing

This year Quinten's Classical Acting class produced William Shakespeare's play Much Ado About Nothing. The kids performed 4 times traveling to different buildings for each performance. Quinten was Leonato, the father of Hero and uncle to Beatrice. As you can see we sprayed his hair silver, and gave him wrinkles so he would look "old".

The kids take this class pretty seriously! This is Quinten and his friend Lucas who plays Benedick, lover of Beatrice. Lucas not only grew a mustache and beard but also dyed his hair dark for his role!

The whole family got involved! Kaylie and Abbie worked back stage as crew for the performances. They helped these ladies dress and undress quickly since they had more than one role.

I am so impressed with the hard work, both physical and emotional, that was put into this play. In this scene, Claudio throws Hero to the ground during what is supposed to be their wedding ceremony because he believes she has been unfaithful. Leonato, is defending his daughter.

Doesn't he look like the angry father here and she like the wounded lover?

It was a fantastic play and every single one of the actors gave it their all. I enjoyed being able to witness just how talented this group of scholars is. They are truly GENIUS!

American Girl Club

This is American Girl Club. We are having a tea party. We are making the food. We made cake and cucumber sandwiches.

This is me wearing a vintage hat. My cooking teacher has a collection at her house.

This is the tea party. These are my friends Asiah, Heidi, Pili and Sam.

At our American girl Club we are studying Kit. She lived during the Great Depression. From her we are learning not to waste and to be kind even when it is hard. In the books, Kit's mom has a tea party for her Garden Club so we thought we would have one too. Miss Colleen loves tea and anything to do with it. She is passionate about this tradition. She shared her collection of teapots and cups with us, all of which were gifts or given to her by friends or family.

Our Cruise

I am finally getting around to posting the pictures of our cruise. We had a fun time and are hoping to go again soon!

We sailed on the Carnival ship Paradise from Long Beach.

We even got an escort out of the harbor.

Our room was small but, cozy. I was really glad we had a window because I think it might have been a little claustrophobic without it.

Our first port was Avalon, on Catalina Island.

We spent an afternoon exploring the town and then back to sea we went bound for Ensenada, Mexico.

After exploring the town, we went on a trip to La Boufadore, the Blowhole. One of only 3 in the world.

The water shoots as high 100 feet in the air.

The view was absolutely beautiful looking out over the Pacific Ocean.

Back on the ship we ate...

... ALOT!! And relaxed until we looked like this...

...happy and satisfied.

Can't wait to do it all over again!!!

G-ma B

It's me, Abbie! I am the one in the green shirt in this picture. But, this is definitely on of my bad hair days. In this pic my sister and I are helping my grandma with her facial exercises. As you can see we all look pretty ridiculous. Anyway, the facial exercises are so grandma can learn to talk clearly and be a good kisser since she had a stroke. Her left side doesn't work so well but, before we left she was doing better everyday. Who knew it was such hard work to make a face like that?!
